Last week our delightful colleague, Heather left us for pastures new. The office is so quiet without her! But sometimes, you got to do what you got to do, so you can do what you want to do. Go out and make things happen. Something I need to do. One day. Soon, maybe.
For her leaving do we went to Artisan in Spinningfields. I’m surprised I’ve never been before. Call myself a foodie eh. Prior to my visit I had a look at the menu and to be frankly honest, nothing tickled my fancy. I felt that the menu was limited and in all honesty, the price put me off a little. Until I looked at the lunch menu. For 11.95 you can get 2 courses, starter and a main and the offer is available Monday to Friday 12pm – 5pm.
You can take a look at their lunch menu here: http://artisan.uk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/artisan-lunch.pdf
From the lunch menu I got the pan-friend gnocchi, radish, broad beans and edamame, and from the mains I chose the 1/2 chicken roasted with garlic and herbs and matchstick fries. Matt decided to copy me, because y’know, I make great food choices and all that.
So. Yeah. After devouring my meal my thoughts about the prices at Artisan changed. They are totally worth the price and at £11.95 for 2 courses, they are an absolute bargain.
Artisan warms up the room with rustic accents, unfinished wood-planked walls, antique chandeliers and country feel potted plants and antiques. The soft intimate lighting and atmosphere makes the perfect place for a date.
